We Need Your Prayers for ‘Victor Newman’

Eric Braeden, 82, who is best known for his iconic portrayal of mogul Victor Newman on the popular soap opera The Young and the Restless, recently shared some heartbreaking news with his fans. He revealed that he has been diagnosed with cancer, while he was still recovering from a knee-replacement surgery.

In a heartfelt 13-minute Facebook Live session, Braeden opened up about his journey. He explained that he had been experiencing prostate issues during his recovery from the surgery, which ultimately led to the cancer diagnosis. Despite the personal nature of his revelation, Braeden believes that sharing his story can help older men who may be going through similar experiences.

Fortunately, doctors were able to remove the cancer through a procedure called UroLift surgery, which is commonly used to treat a condition called benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Currently, the German-born actor is undergoing a six-week immunotherapy plan to ensure his full recovery.

During his Facebook Live session, Braeden expressed his optimism and determination. He mentioned that although he is feeling a bit under the weather, he has learned to listen to his body and take things easier. He confidently stated, “I will lick this. This bastard ain’t going to get me; I’m going to get it.”

Despite facing this health challenge, Braeden is grateful for his role on The Young and the Restless, which he has held for over 40 years. He finds solace and joy in acting, as it distracts him from his health issues, and he takes immense pride in entertaining people. Braeden acknowledged the support of his fans and encouraged everyone to support their loved ones who may be going through similar challenges. He highlighted the advancements in cancer treatment and expressed confidence in one’s ability to overcome the disease.

When Braeden first landed the role of Victor Newman, it was only meant to be a guest character for a few weeks. However, his impressive talent and dedication to the character led to an evolution that made him the show’s leading male figure.

As Eric Braeden battles his health issues, we send him our best wishes and hope for a full recovery. His talent and dedication to his craft have touched the lives of many, and we stand by him during this challenging time. Please remember to share this article with your family and friends on Facebook to spread awareness and support for Eric Braeden.
